It's Okay to Need Help

I struggled with reaching out when I needed help for a long time. I felt like no one got what I was going through, and even if they did, why would they care? But I quickly realized that life isn’t meant to be lived alone, and I had been ignoring the problems I had in my past. One of the most important things is to find someone you trust, and reach out to them.

Asking for help is a scary thing, because it means admitting that there is potentially something that should be addressed. The new and unknown are scary in life, but we can’t rely on ourselves for all of the support we need. There will always be situations that we are unfamiliar with, and becoming comfortable asking for help now will make it much easier in the future when we really need it. Even if it’s for something small, like an assignment you never did, getting into the practice will make it seem like the natural thing to do. Don’t be afraid to reach out to our peer leaders, even if it’s just to vent about a bad day. We are available 24/7. You are always welcome to reach out and we will help you find the best path to reach your personal goals.
